Worship
|
Our Lord instructed us to
meet often to remember Him in the breaking of bread.
We gather weekly for The Lord's Supper to worship and
remember Him. For more information see

Service
|
| All
believers in Christ are encouraged to use their spiritual
gifts in serving one another for the glory of God, and the
building up of each other's faith, practical expression of
love and the furtherance of the gospel. (Romans
12:3-16, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:7-16, 1 Peter
4:10-11) |
Evangelism
|
Jesus
commanded his disciples to go into all the world, preaching
the gospel and making disciples. (Mark 16:15, Matthew
28:19-20)
It is our aim to teach the
message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone
as the only hope for the forgiveness of sins and peace with
God. We do this through personal evangelism, home
Bible studies, and foreign missions and our local summer
camp. For more information on our summer camp go

Welcome
What We Believe
 |
We believe the Bible to be the
Divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God, revealing the ruin of
man by sin and his redemption through the shed blood of the
Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter
1:20-21, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 1:7)
|
 |
We believe in the one true God,
Creator of all, who eternally exists in three persons: Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:22,
Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 2, Isaiah 44:6-8, John 10:30, Acts
5:3-4, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
|
 |
We believe in the absolute
deity of the Lord Jesus Christ - true God and true man.
He is the only begotten and eternal Son of God, miraculously
born of the virgin Mary, His life was absolutely perfect and
sinless. (John 1:14-18, John 20:28, Colossians 2:9, 1
Timothy 2:5, Matthew 1:18-25, 1 Peter 2:21-22)
|
 |
We believe that Jesus Christ is
God's only provision for sin. On Calvary's cross, Jesus
Christ fully and eternally paid the penalty for sin and
completed the work of redemption. God attested to His
finished work by raising Him bodily from among the dead.
(John 1:4-6, Acts 1:4, 10-12, Romans 3:24, 1 Peter 3:18,
Hebrews 7:24-27)
|
 |
We believe in the forgiveness
of sins through faith in Jesus Christ. All who repent of
their sins and trust Him receive eternal life are 'born
again', and become members of His church through faith by
grace alone. (Luke 24-47, Acts 2:47, Romans 3:21-26,
Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9)
|
 |
We believe in the baptism of
believers following conversion by immersion, as practiced in
the early church (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15, Acts
2:41). Baptism does not save. It is an act of
obedience, symbolizing our identification with Christ's death,
burial and resurrection. (Romans 6:3-6, 1 Corinthians
1:13-17)
|
 |
We believe in the priesthood of
all believers (1 Peter 2:5). We do not recognize a
special class of people who do the Lord's work. Every
believer is encouraged to use their gifts to service the Lord
in a variety of ways for the edifying of the church. (1
Corinthians 12-14, Ephesians 4:4-16)
|
 |
We believe in the imminent and
personal return of Jesus Christ for His church, prior to His
return to judge the nations. (John 14:1-3, 1
Thessalonians 1:10, 4:14-18, 5:9)
|
 |
We believe in the unique
position of the nation of Israel, as God's chosen earthly
people, and that their re-gathering to their own land is the
fulfillment in part of God's purpose for them to bring
blessing to the whole earth. (Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis
15:18, Zechariah 12-14, Romans 9-11)

|
Why
We Meet
|
| We exist for
the glory of God, and to glorify Him through worship,
service, evangelism, prayer and fellowship. |
How
We Meet
|
|
We are governed by elders, men appointed and recognized by
their aptitude and desire to serve our risen Saviour, who is the one true
Head of the Church Universal. (Matthew 16:18, 1 Timothy 3:1-7,
Titus 1:5-9)
We meet simply, according to the plain teachings of the New
Testament Scriptures, as a local gathering of People who have simply
placed their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord (1
Timothy 3:14-15, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11 - 16)
|
Brief
History
|
|
Our fellowship as a local church started in 1928 at 603
Arlington Street. After many years of dedicated service, we have
felt led to carry on our work in this new area. We are associated
with similar independent congregations in our city and province, 450
throughout Canada, and many more around the world. We seek only to be known as
followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Although we have no denominational affiliation, we follow
the Holy Bible as the guide and charter for our faith, and believe that
all true believers in the Lord Jesus are our brothers and sisters in the
family of God.
